Growing up in rural Georgia, life on the small farm held many of life's blessings: land to ride my horse on, chores to help shape my character, and the true love of my life - creating art!
Horses were my first love affair, and boy, did I enjoy drawing and painting them! I still love their form and elegance. Because of my life choices, I no longer have a horse of my own, but I have found great enjoyment from creating art for others of their beloved pets.
Any animal has the potential of garnering our affections, from the amazing hummingbird and delightful peacock, to the massive elephant and whales of our oceans. Whether it be a pet we keep in our homes or those living on the African plains, there is no end to the variety and beauty of the animal kingdom.
My love of creating artwork has driven me to focus on dogs for the past year. I adopted a rescue dog from my local Humane Society and fell in love with her! She and I have so much in common that I often think she'll be the last dog I give my heart to! You may have said that before, too.
About 45% of American households have at least one dog in them. That means there are about 68 million households with a canine companion. With all the money and attention we give our dogs, we should consider the impact they have on our lives. You may decide to order a unique, handmade piece of art that shares their energy & spirit in a visual and tangible way.
Every dog lover has a special bond with their dogs. It's how we celebrate them that keeps their memory alive.
