Do You Have a Crazy Love For Your Dog? If you have ever had a dog, you know the feelings of closeness you can feel with a dog. It's like having a shadow that is observing and learning your habits. They all have unique personalities, but they all are uniquely personal to us because we help mold one another. Science backs it up and I can't wait to hear what you think! I decided to leave this note in for at least a month to give you a chance to share your birth month so I can share a "gift" with you when it's your month. Birth Month Gifts Another thing I would also appreciate from you is for you to share your birth month (not the day or year) with me so I can send you a special gift to you during your birth month. I look forward to hearing from each one of you in these matters and I want to let you know that because National Dog Mom's Day is coming up May 9th, I am sharing some BIG NEWS with you here first! I am preparing to offer some artwork for the next couple of months for dog moms - Happy Dog Mom's Day (a bit early). These artworks are "Larger Than Life" - on a large scale - 36x36" (and before you think you won't be able to afford them, I want to encourage you to hear me out). The cost is based on a couple of factors. These are statement pieces for the home, not simply portraits. They are meant to capture your dog's presence, soul, and personality at a larger scale - which is how we dog moms feel about our very special dogs. LARGE ART changes a room - the feel, the presence, and the very nature of your home can be elevated with a large, statement piece of artwork - and what better subject than your dog? These are not commissions - I am only doing a limited number (4) of them because of the intensity of the project. This is all about your relationship with your dog and I want to honor this with how I create your piece of artwork. Larger Than Life is big dog art for dog moms who have a big love! Because the dogs who change our lives deserve to live large in our homes. Here are the details of how I plan to proceed with this project. 1) A personal call with you to discuss your relationship with your dog. I want to understand your ethos and try to use color, lines, and my artistic skill to bring that relationship to life on the canvas. I will do a couple of sketches and get your input. 2) Your painting will be a 2-week project and may take up to 4 weeks, since we are entering the busier time of year. I will send you progress photos along the way to get your approval on this larger artwork. I want to make sure you are happy with the direction before I finish it. Option 1 - Collector Canvas (rolled, signed original canvas)

Larger Than Life was born out of my big love for my dog, Lollipop. I will be sharing her painting with you in the email next week. I have been so excited to do bigger artwork to be expressive and full of life. I invite you to keep up with my social media channels to see process videos this next week. With heART, Rachel 🐶 A Note from Rachel I took a class to learn a new artistic medium called encaustic. It is melted wax that is mixed with pigments to create art. Often called "hot wax painting," it is a process of painting from liquid to solid, rather than wet to dry. It is very labor intensive, so the learning will take place over the next 3-6 months. I will be sharing a few examples of my work from the classes I took after Dog Mom's Day is past. One thing at a time, right?
